Our Working / Sensory Garden
Our garden was created in April 2017 with a small patch of land that was kindly donated by Sheering Parish Council. We created the garden so that the children could experience the awe and wonder of growing their own flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables, helping them to understand the journey from seed to fully grown. The children then get to sample the produce at snack time.
The central raised bed contains various herbs and fragrant plants to encourage sensory exploration.
We also use the garden for minibeast hunts and butterfly release.
The garden has a mud kitchen, fairy garden, potting bench, bug hotel, bird bath and lock and key activity. We have also been lucky enough to have had blue tits nesting in out bird house in the past.
